01The problem
Someone who has been charged, or who has just been served with family court papers, decides in minutes and under stress. They do not search for "lawyer". They search for the thing that happened to them: a drink driving charge, an AVO, a property settlement.
The firm had one page covering every service. A person arriving on it had to read through areas of law that did not apply to them before finding the one that did. Booking a consultation meant finding a contact page, which meant another click at the exact moment a worried person is most likely to leave and try the next firm.
02What was built
Five practice areas, five pages
Criminal law, traffic law, family law, conveyancing and commercial law each got their own page with their own content. Someone searching for one of them lands on that page rather than on a general homepage.
Booking on the first screen
A consultation form sits on the homepage with name, email, phone, preferred date and message. A Book A Free Consultation button is fixed in the header, so the next step is one click from anywhere on the site.
Proof above the fold
Years in practice, cases won and client numbers moved out of an About page and onto the first screen, because a person choosing a criminal lawyer is buying on trust before anything else.
Client testimonials on the homepage
A testimonial carousel runs on the homepage rather than being hidden on a separate page, so the reassurance arrives while the person is still deciding.
On a phone
Most visitors arrive on a phone, so the layout was built for that width first and widened out, rather than the other way round.
03The outcome
The website helps people find the legal service that matches their situation, understand the firm's experience, and request a free consultation from the page. This gives the firm a clearer way to introduce its services and receive enquiries with context, so the team can focus its first response on the person's legal needs.
What the client gained
People under stress can see whether we handle their issue and request a consultation without searching around. When an enquiry comes in, we have a clearer idea of what they need before we call them back.
People can see whether we handle their issue and how to contact us without searching through the site. It gives them a clearer idea of what we do before we speak.
