01The problem
Stock levels, supplier details and purchase prices lived in spreadsheets. Orders were read out of Shopify and keyed into those spreadsheets by hand, which is slow and goes wrong under volume.
Margin and reorder points were worked out manually whenever someone needed them. Nothing flagged an order that had stalled, so a delayed order was found when the customer asked about it.
02What was built
Orders arrive on their own
Shopify orders come in over webhooks and are fulfilled in the same system. Nothing is re-keyed, and fulfilment status flows back without a second manual step.
Margin on the product record
Every product carries buying price, selling price, supplier and minimum rebuy quantity. Margin and reorder point are properties of the product rather than a calculation someone redoes each time.
Bundles handled properly
Packs, groups, variants and linked products, so a bundle draws down the stock of its components instead of being tracked as a separate guess.
Suppliers and stalled orders
Supplier order sheets generate from current stock levels. Delayed orders are flagged and the customer is notified automatically rather than finding out by asking.
Built in French
The whole interface is in French, built for a French team rather than translated after the fact.
03The outcome
The system connects Shopify orders with stock, product costs and supplier information in a French-language workspace. The retailer can manage fulfilment, use reorder quantities when preparing supplier orders, and notify customers when orders are delayed. The recorded catalogue covers 82 products across 20 categories; this describes system scope, not a measured change in sales or stock-outs.
What the client gained
Shopify orders and stock information are together now, so we do not have to move between as many spreadsheets to follow routine work. We can also prepare supplier order sheets from the stock levels in the system.
